The gallery was founded in 2001 by Vladimir Frolov and partners. Until August 2010, it was known as pARTnerproject Gallery. The gallery deals with contemporary Russian and international artists.
During its existence it has organized and held exhibitions in collaboration with Russian and European museums such as the State Hermitage Museum; the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts; the Russian State Museum; the Moscow Museum of Modern Art; the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture; the State Literature Museum; the A.S. Pushkin State Museum; The Anna Akhmatova Museum at the Fountain House; The National Centre for Contemporary Arts; and also the Kunstmuseum Bochum, Bochum, Germany; the Ritter Museum, Waldenbuch, Germany; the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava, Slovakia; MODEM Centre for Contemporary and Modern Art, Debrecen, Hungary; and the National Art Gallery, So a, Bulgaria.
Besides exhibition activities, the Frolov Gallery also offers educational lectures by leading art historians and curators (Grigory and Olga Kozlov, David Galloway and others) as well as roundtable discussions and other events with major Russian and international artists (Rauf Mamedov, Bogdan Mamonov, Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe, Geor- gy Pusenkoff, Olga Soldatova, Ralf Kaspers, Claudia Rogge).
