ARKA Gallery, the first private gallery in Vladivostok, was founded in 1995 by Vera and Sergey Glazkov. The gallery's main focus is the promotion of artists’ work and educational activities in the field of contemporary art. Its curatorial approach is aimed at the development of contemporary Russian art and reflects the depth and sophistication of artistic works by regional artists. In putting into practice the concept of a cultural space, ARKA Gallery presents exhibitions and projects by established and young artists from the Russian Far East, as well as Russian and international authors, both at its own venue and at international exhibitions and art fairs; it also facilitates artists’ participation in collaborative projects. The gallery cooperates with institutions in Russia and abroad and has participated in international biennales and contemporary art fairs.

The gallery focuses on and supports artists who explore and utilise current trends in artistic practices, as well as explore issues of geography, history, and culture of the Russian Far East.
