The gallery was founded in 1991 by Elena Kuprina-Lyakhovich, a curator of exhibition projects and consultant on the formation of private collections. The main interests of the institute lie in the field of studying the work of authors who formed in the circle of the Moscow Conceptual School in the 1970s and 1980s of the twentieth century, such as Andrei Filippov, Maria Konstantinova, Sergey Mironenko, Boris Matrosov, Maria Chuikova. Over time, representatives of the next generation, formed in the 2000s, were added to the list of artists. Recently, the gallery has been working with young authors, helping them find their place in the Moscow art community. In addition to exhibition and educational activities, E.K.ArtBuro is the curator of the MANI Museum (Moscow Archive of New Art) and a member of the Association of Galleries. He participates in the most important fairs in Russia, and also works with the largest collections and funds.
