Deep List

Deep List is a contemporary art gallery founded by curators Irina Shulzhenko and Daria Yartseva. The project rethinks gallery strategies and collecting opportunities, provides curatorial selection for collectors, and preserves an independent environment for artists.

The Deep List project’s title is built on a play on words and refers to American composer Pauline Oliveros’ concept of “deep listening”. Based on the idea of the fundamental differences between the concepts of “hearing” and “listening”, Oliveros has developed techniques to involve the listener in the process of creation and appearance of sounds in space.
