On April 9, ahead of the 13th Charity Auction, the Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art will present lots at the 'Architectures of Dream' exhibition in the historical space of Eliseevsky, owned by R4S (Tverskaya St., 14). The auction will be held on April 13, 2026 with the support of the following partners: Sber, R4S, Beluga, Tete de Cheval, Edis.
The project was curated by Azu Nwagbogu, one of the key figures of the global art scene. Alexey Maslyaev, the Cosmoscow Foundation's curator, took part in the preparation of the exhibition.
Azu Nwagbogu is a founder of the LagosPhoto Festival and the African Artist Foundation, known for his ambitious vision and work with institutions around the world. In 2024, Nwagbogu curated the first ever national pavilion of Benin at the 60th Venice Biennale. Since 2021, the curator has been included in in ArtReview Power 100 list (holding 45th place in 2025).
The pre-auction exhibition 'Architectures of Dream' will share how in a time when the world seems intent on division—by borders, by ideologies, by the weight of separate histories – there is something simpler and more radical: solidarity through imagination. The artists who engage in dialogue in the exhibition share a commitment to building worlds rather than merely reflecting them, creating the 'architectures of dream'. These are not utopian fantasies or escapist retreats – these are structures of hope built with clear eyes, knowing that survival requires more than endurance.
'From North to South, these artists work with photography, painting, and conceptual gestures that ask: what if we imagined otherwise? Each work carries the weight of history while insisting on something lighter—what I call a Happy Survival. Happy Survival is not naïve optimism. It's the knowledge that beauty and imagination are survival tools, that culture-making in hostile conditions is a form of defiance, that artists working across continents in parallel gestures of world-building are already enacting the solidarity our institutions struggle to formalize' – Azu Nwagbogu, curator of the auction.
The exhibition will include 27 lots: 24 from Russia and 3 by foreign artists. The presented pieces will be available for purchase at the 13th Cosmoscow Foundation Charity Auction, hosted by Andrey Malakhov.
