Over 20 events: Cosmoscow Fair presented its 14th edition’s Cosmoscow Talks Discussion Program
On September 4–6, the Timiryazev Centre will host the Cosmoscow Talks discussion program for the 14th edition of the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair. During the public days, guests will be able to attend lectures, discussions, and open interviews featuring artists, curators, collectors, representatives of museums, galleries, media, and business. Cosmoscow is supported by General Partner Sber: GigaChat and Sber Private Banking, Automobile Partner VOYAH, and companies including Hutton, MR, ēdomo, Lamoda, Beluga, Tête de Cheval, 12 STOREEZ, Azbuka Vkusa, Konstantin Chaykin, Geltek, Mistral, Chupa-Chups, Kids Program’s partner Kangaroo, and The Carlton, Moscow.
The fair will occupy 17,010 square meters, spanning two floors and the courtyard of the Timiryazev Centre. Visitors will see 113 gallery booths, over 20 partner projects, and 9 non-profit cultural projects. The Cosmoscow Talks program will be held in the Lecture Hall and Media Forum. Kangaroo will prepare the Cosmoscow Kids area for young visitors, offering workshops, games, and creative activities.
The program will be divided into two sections: the Lecture Hall and the Media Forum. These sections will bring together professionals from various fields and invite fair guests to discuss how the artistic environment is changing, what processes shape its development, and how art interacts with society.
Cosmoscow discussions will also extend beyond the fair’s main venue, with events taking place at Masters:Dom and the Vnutri Digital Art Center. In total, there will be over 20 meetings, discussions, and lectures featuring representatives of the art community and related industries.
Cosmoscow has also launched a dedicated Telegram channel Cosmoscow Talks, dedicated to the fair’s discussion program and current issues in the art industry. This channel will publish materials about the Lecture Hall and Media Forum events, their participants and topics, excerpts from discussions and lectures, as well as a schedule and reminders of upcoming events.
Cosmoscow Lecture Hall
“Crafts and Meanings. Traditional Crafts in Contemporary Art”
Venue: Timiryazev Centre, 2nd floor, Lecture Hall.
The Cosmoscow Lecture Hall is a space for dialogue about the processes occurring within the cultural and artistic environment. Current issues in contemporary art, its development, work with heritage, and the formation of a contemporary cultural agenda are discussed here. Participants in the discussions include representatives of the art community: collectors, representatives of museums and cultural institutions, curators, artists, and art historians.
The theme of the Lecture Hall for the 14th edition of the fair will be contemporary art’s embrace of traditional crafts and folk arts. In recent years, artists and curators have increasingly been working with traditional handcrafted techniques and collaborating with master artisans, exploring cultural memory, regional history, and connections to the past. As part of the program, participants will discuss the preservation and rethinking of tangible and intangible heritage, the interaction between artist and artisan, the development of industry, and the potential of traditional collecting practices.
Particular attention will be paid to craft as a form of reflection and artistic expression, and how practices rooted in the past are today becoming a tool for shaping new artistic expressions, identities, and cultural meanings.
The curator of the Lecture Series will be Marina Shults, art historian, curator, and head of the State Hermitage Museum’s Department of Contemporary Art.
Cosmoscow Media Forum
“Scenarios for Tomorrow”
Venue: Timiryazev Centre, 2nd floor, Media Forum.
The Cosmoscow Media Forum is a space for discussing the processes shaping the development of contemporary art: how the artistic agenda is shaped, who influences the perception of works, how the role of experts is changing, collecting models, and how art interacts with new audiences.
This season, the Media Forum will become a platform for discussions about scenarios for tomorrow: new generations of collectors and viewers, professionals shaping the art scene, the interaction between art and business, the development of design, cultural institutions, and new formats for engaging with audiences. The program explores how art exists today and what changes are shaping its future.
Special attention will be paid to the interaction between children and contemporary art. Participants will discuss how to introduce children to artistic practices, the line between educational conversation and imposed interpretation, and how to turn a museum visit into an independent discovery.
All discussions will take place in a stylish lounge area on the second floor of the Timiryazev Centre. Guests can combine a rich educational program with a pleasant break over a cup of coffee and lively interaction with colleagues and like-minded individuals.

The Lecture Hall and Media Forum will be part of the fair’s overall program, allowing visitors to not only experience the works but also delve deeper into their context.
