In the new season, musicAeterna program booklets will be published in collaboration with Cosmoscow

The Cosmoscow Foundation is launching a collaboration with musicAeterna in the new concert season 2026/2027. As part of the collaboration, Cosmoscow experts will select current Russian artists and involve them in the creation of the booklets for musicAeterna’s concert programs.

musicAeterna has been presenting contemporary art in the booklets of its concert programs for five years. Graphics and photographs by contemporary artists from different generations form the visual core of all the orchestra’s and choir’s publications. The booklets have published works by Leonid Tshe and Alexandra Hart, Vladislav Kulkov and Vladimir Chernyshev, Tatiana Podmarkova and Nestor Engelke, 20th‑century classics Yevgeny Mikhnova‑Voytenko and Yuri Zlotnikov, and many other authors.

In the 2026/2027 season, the Cosmoscow Foundation will provide musicAeterna with catalogs and archives of the fair, works from which can be used to illustrate pieces from musicAeterna’s repertoire, from high Baroque music to avant-garde compositions of the 20th–21st centuries.

“For the Cosmoscow Foundation, the collaboration with musicAeterna has become an organic and inspiring step. We are glad to facilitate dialogue between contemporary artists and a collective with whom we see like‑minded partners and whose work we sincerely value. This collaboration helps find points of contact, exploring how the visual image can continue, complement, or reveal a musical work in a new way. Such an interdisciplinary dialogue broadens the range of perception of musicAeterna’s works and contemporary visual art,” says Anastasia Ivanova, Director of the Cosmoscow Foundation.

In the booklet for the season’s first program — “Rameau. Sound of Light-2” — there is graphics by Arina Frank, a participant in the Cosmoscow Foundation auction (2025), a young Russian artist, with gouache works from 2025.

“The distinctive feature of these images is the swirl, as if lifting from the ‘ground’ of the drawing previously assembled or fallen elements. Sometimes these elements form mechanistic-organic constructions, some painted golems that gain flesh only for a moment. And this moment seems to me like a dance. For me, the beauty of working with gouache is that I never know where the wind will blow or what will appear in the preliminary passing cloud.” — Artist Arina Frank.

Arina Frank was born in 2001 in Tver, and she lives and works in Moscow. Without formal institutional education, she has formed practical experience in design and since 2022 has been building an autonomous artistic practice. In 2024 she worked in the studios of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. She has participated in fairs Catalog, TUPIK, Kontur, auctions of the Vera Foundation, the Cosmoscow Foundation for the Support of Contemporary Art, Aucti-on. The artist’s solo exhibitions have taken place at the ART4 Museum (Moscow, 2024), and at the LOBBY and Shift galleries (Moscow, 2025). Her works are in the collections of the AZ Museum, ART4, and private collections.

The booklets will be visible and available for purchase at musicAeterna concerts on September 19 in the Grand Hall of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic and on September 22 and 23 in the Zaryadye Hall in Moscow.
