Livre d’artiste club

The Moscow Livre d’artiste Club presents five editions created in the livre d’artiste format as part of the Club’s publishing program. The Club’s venue is the exhibition space in the main office of the LANIT Group of Companies. It is equipped with unique equipment and is designed to display livre d’artiste editions of outstanding artists of the 20th century from the collection of the holding’s founder, Georgy Gens. LANIT employees lovingly call this place “our Museum”.

Visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to examine in detail each of the five editions with series of original color lithographs by artists Leonid Tishkov, Sergey Shutov, Ekaterina Smirnova, Yuri Vaschenko, and Irina Zatulovskaya, and to talk with the artists and the curator of the project.

Livre d’artiste editions are an independent direction of graphic art that became widespread throughout the 20th century. Almost all the world’s leading artists and sculptors of the last century worked in this genre, creating outstanding works of original printed graphics. The fundamental feature of livre d’artiste editions, in contrast to conventional illustrated book editions, is that the main thing in them is not the text but the artist’s work. The graphic series represents works made in one of the techniques of original printed graphics: etching, lithography, or woodcut.
