Massimo de Carlo

Massimo De Carlo gallery was founded in Milan in 1987. It opened on Via Panfilo Castaldi with an exhibition of Olivier Mosset in November. In 1992 it moved to a new space on Via Bocconi and in 1998 to Viale Corsica. In 2003 it moved to the present space on Via Ventura.

For over 20 years Massimo De Carlo gallery has been playing an important role in introducing Italian artists to European and American audiences and American and European artists to Italy, and helping establish a vital dialogue between its artists and national and international institutions. Massimo De Carlo gallery works with diverse artists active in different media. The gallery deals in a distinctive combination of painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, photography and video. The gallery's artists have all gained international recognition and have been shown in galleries, museums and biennials in most of Europe and the US. All the artists are represented in important private and public collections.

In 2009 Massimo De Carlo opened a new space in central London. As well as working with the historically represented artists, this new venue has, since its opening, focused on emerging American artists.
