pop/off/art gallery

The pop/off/art gallery Moscow-Berlin was established in 2004 by Sergey Popov, an art historian, curator and one of the leading contemporary art experts. The gallery is one of the leading members of the Moscow art scene when it comes to exhibiting contemporary Russian art, although the gallery’s sphere of interest also includes contemporary art on an international level.

A new gallery space opened its doors in Berlin in summer 2012. As a result of this development pop/off/art gallery Moscow-Berlin became the first gallery in Russia to have opened a filial in continental Europe. Currently the space is being transformed.

Among represented artists are some of the most well-known names in contemporary Russian art from acknowledged masters (Eric Bulatov, Andrey Grositsky, Arkady Petrov) to key gures of the last 10 years (Anatoly Osmolovsky, Olga Chernysheva, Vitaly Pushnitsky, Kirill Chelushkin); from rising stars to newly discovered masters. They include the recipients of national awards and participants of some of the most prestigious international art forums, auction sales and ratings leaders. The gallery represents a range of art forms, including photography and new media, but its central focus is on painting, sculpture and installation as they are perceived today. The main element that unites all of the represented artists is the high quality of their work.
