Pro Art’s Gallery

Founded in 2018, Pro Art`s Gallery is the first contemporary art gallery in Kaluga. It is a part of an independent art institution, Pro Art’s contemporary art space located in the historical center of the city on the three floors of an 18thcentury mansion.

The project’s mission is to perform the role of an “entry point” in culture through the presentation of contemporary art; the formation of a new local art stage embedded into the whole system of contemporary art processes. Art exhibitions, art-residencies, performances, programme shows of international film festivals, concerts, drama festivals, poetry battles, modern play readings – all these events regularly take place at Pro Art`s. In the drama lab own plays are created. The gallery also invites theatre companies from other cities. The gallery’s educational programme includes master classes, lectures, meetings with prominent art figures.

The programme of exhibitions at the gallery is aimed at analysis and presentation of modern artistic practices, promotion, and popularization of contemporary visual art in the region, as well as the formation of the local art market. During the first year, the gallery has hosted 9 exhibitions which displayed the works of both young promising artists and already famous and recognized authors.
