Giorgio Persano Gallery

The activity of the gallery begins in 1975. Giorgio Persano curates the projects and the production of the works by establishing a close collaboration with his artists. His choices range within the main contemporary avant-garde currents: from Arte Povera to minimal and conceptual art, to an accurate selection of young artists chosen from the international emerging panorama. During the years, the gallery has presented exhibitions of well known artists such as Pier Paolo Calzolari, Jannis Kounellis, Mario Merz, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Emilio Prini, Gilberto Zorio, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Max Neuhaus, Bernar Venet, Lawrence Weiner, Franz West, Jan Dibbets, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Julião Sarmento, Susana Solano, Herbert Brandl, Marco Bagnoli, Nicola De Maria, Nunzio, Mimmo Paladino – alternated with younger artists, united by an interest in exploring their own cultural roots: Antoni Abad, Lida Abdul, Per Barclay, Zena el Khalil, Susy Gómez, Susan Norrie, Avery Preesman, Luisa Rabbia, Alessandro Sciaraffa, and Paolo Cirio.

In this way, the gallery intends to document and give visibility to a variety of experiences, on the one hand, related to the history and culture of the artists' different countries of origin, and on the other deeply rooted in a wider cultural context.

Artists presented at Cosmoscow 2019: Per Barclay, Paolo Cirio, Michelangelo Pistoletto.
