Omelchenko Gallery

Omelchenko Gallery is a Moscow-based gallery aimed at popularising contemporary art. The gallery represents such eminent masters as Oleg Prokofiev, Pyotr Karachentsov, Julia Malinina, Natalya Gudovich, Natalya Tolstaya, and others, as well as actively works with young authors. Meetings with artists, cultural events and lectures aimed at familiarizing visitors with the world of art are regularly held in the gallery space.

At Cosmoscow 2019, the gallery will present a series of works by Anastasia Omelchenko inspired by modern Sri Lanka. The artist will raise such topics as the consequences of a human's presence in nature, the perception of natural beauty as opposed to false decoration, and the potential to stay connected with Nature. The contrast of bright colors and light tones prevails in the artworks – highlighting the contrast of external and internal as one of the distinguishing features of Sri Lanka. Images of people lack specificity or are completely absent, but the presence of a person is felt in every work. Given the environmental world situation, the selected theme of "man and nature" seems particularly relevant.
