ARTMOSSPHERE is an independent urban art community that researches, promotes and develops street art in Russia, supporting artists with the background in street culture. The community was founded by Sabina Chagina and Julia Vasilenko in 2014. By initiating exhibitions, festivals and other cultural activities, ARTMOSSPHERE aims to create a global street art promotional platform. The community has opened many new names and talented Russian artists through different projects. Breaking the stereotypes of street art as a decorative and marginal art, Artmossphere stands for the integration of street art into the field of global contemporary art. ARTMOSSPHERE is founder of ARTMOSSPHERE Street Art Biennale – the first and only international Biennale, welcoming artists with background in graffiti and street art. Biennale took place in Moscow in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The 4th Biennale is announced for spring 2021. In 2019 ARTMOSSPHERE issued Russian Street Art Encyclopedia, the first book which covers the chronology and deep biographical summary of Russian street artists and graffiti writers.
