Project “The Big implosion Theory” by Vasily Klyukin, in collaboration with Simon Lee Gallery

A collaboration project of the Simon Lee Gallery and Vasily Klyukin in Barvikha and London which combines two series of works by the sculptor – “Relief” and “Living Sculptures”. The focus is on anthropogenic pollution, human harm to the environment, the transformation into deserts of certain areas of our planet, and their joyless existence in anticipation of revival. The ability to combine the intricacies of nature with a passion for equations and formulas in his abstract and kinetic sculpture to almost optical illusion makes Vasily Klyukin one of the most exciting artists of our time.

Crypto (from the Relief series):

Inspired by nature, Crypto is a collection of terrain-like reliefs in perfect geometric shape. Klyukin’s natural forms representing the four elements, arise from mathematical formulas. Data taken from coordinates, chemical formulas, time and even human lives, creates their structure.

Ether (from the Live Sculptures series)

Empedocles introduced the concept of the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. Aristotle added a fifth one – ether. This was the element that light flowed through. Ether mixes and combines with other elements to create life. Light and vision combined in small to medium scale sculptures.
