Galerie Obrist was founded in 2000 by the art historian Torsten Obrist and has since become an innovative exhibition space among the leading galleries for contemporary art in the Ruhr area. The spectrum covers classical media such as painting, sculpture and photography as well as video and installation by well-established positions and young emerging artists on the market.
The gallery regularly participates in fairs in Germany, Canada, Russia, Switzerland and the US and is a member of the Federal Association of German Galleries.
