Founded by curator Elena Selina and director Sergey Khripun, XL Gallery opened its doors in 1993. Since then, the gallery has held more than 250 exhibitions.
XL Gallery works primarily with Russian artists, from classic representatives of the Moscow contemporary art world (Viktor Pivovarov, Andrey Monastyrsky, Igor Makarevich, Boris Orlov) to young stars (Irina Korina, Bluesoup group, Alexander Povzner, Ilya Dolgov, ZIP group) and many more. The gallery focuses on installation, video, sculpture, and multimedia projects.
