Vellum

Vellum Gallery has been working for 21 years and is focused on non-conformist artists and Russian classics from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. The first principle of selection is the highest quality of an artwork.

Besides the unique collection of works by the 60s artists (A. Zverev, D. Plavinsky, E. Neizvestny, D. Krasnopevtsev, V. Yakovlev, O. Rabin, Yu. Sooster and others), the gallery exhibits the works of avant-garde masters and Russian artists who worked abroad (A. Exter, D. Burlyuk, A. Lentulov, P. Konchalovsky, A. Shevchenko, A. Lanskaya, etc.). Classics of domestic art (I. Shishkin, V. Polenov, V. Surikov, I. Levitan, M. Nesterov, etc.) are exposed side by side with representatives of the Union of Russian Artists (V. Byalynitsky-Birulya, S. Zhukovsky, N. Krymov, P. Petrovichev, L. Turzhansky), as well as ‘The World of Art’ and ‘The Blue Rose’ groups (V. Borisov-Musatov, L. Bakst, N. Sapunov, P. Utkin, M. Saryan, A. Benois, etc.).

About 100 exhibition projects were held on the partner sites: in the State Russian Museum, the State Literary Museum, the Museum of Oriental Art, MMOMA, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Museum of Moscow and many others.

Lyubov Agafonova, the owner and permanent director of the gallery, is an honorary member of the Academy of Arts, art critic, researcher, and author of a number of studies and monographs popularizing the works of the Russian artists of the first decades of the 20th century.
