TOLK Gallery

TOLK is the first contemporary art gallery in Nizhny Novgorod. It was established in 2014, and over this short period of time it has already held more than 10 exhibitions of local and invited artists, dozens of lectures and cinema shows and become the new art and cultural center of the city.

The gallery’s main artists are a young local group that works in both street art and traditional techniques such as oil painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and books. In just a few years these artists turned Nizhny Novgorod into a huge street art gallery with more than 300 works in the city. Their style turns out to be the unconscious inheritance of the rich cultural traditions of the Russian center of arts and crafts.

The gallery also shows street artists and painters from other Russian cities and abroad. Also the gallery started cooperation with designers and artists, working in tradi- tional art crafts techniques (china, ceramics, working with wood, metal, glass, textiles, etc.). Since 2015, TOLK Gallery has been working on creating exchange projects with Russian and foreign institutions and produc- ing exhibitions for export.
