The 12th International Fair of Contemporary Art Cosmoscow will be held at the new exhibition site “Timiryazev Center” (Verkhnyaya Alleya, 8) from October 25 to 27, 2024 with the support of the general partner Sberbank PJSC, the companies Casarte, HUTTON, MR GROUP, automotive partner EXEED, fashion -partner EKONIKA, BORK company, Beluga and Beluga Botanicals, Tête de Cheval, THE UGLY DUCK (TUD), lifestyle partner 12 STOREEZ, beauty partner The Act, Ultima Yandex Go, Black Square and technical partner LIVE SOUND.
This year the fair will be held at the new site of the Timiryazev Center with an exhibition area of 18,000 m². The technological exhibition center was designed taking into account the zoning of large-scale events comparable to Cosmoscow. The developed infrastructure of the center includes parking, registration areas, as well as a separate VIP room for guests and collectors. Galleries will present their stands in a hall with panoramic glazing and 16-meter ceilings; a lecture hall and media forum of the fair will be located separately.
The galleries will be divided into 6 sections depending on their specialization. Well-known artists with their own exhibition spaces will take part in the BASE section. KONTUR provides young teams that may not have a permanent location, working in a showroom or online platform format. The CIRCULATION section will include galleries dealing with circulation art, and DESIGN will present galleries working with collection design. The DIGITAL section will unite modern offline and online galleries working with projects in the field of new media and digital art. The COMMUNITY section will bring together projects aimed at developing infrastructure, education and communications in the field of contemporary art and increasing interest in collecting.
Members of the Expert Council in 2024 were: founder of Cosmoscow Margarita Pushkina, founder of XL gallery Elena Selina, art critic Irina Gorlova, founder of Syntax gallery Elvira Tarnogradskaya, director of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art Anton Belov. The DESIGN section is supervised by the founder of the Arch(e)type bureau Daria Belyakova and art historian Maria Savostyanova. The curators of the digital block are: teacher at the Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia named after. A. Rodchenko Alexey Shulgin and curator Anna Zavediy.
This season, the fair will present more than 1,500 works of contemporary art from 83 galleries, of which 18 are participating in the fair for the first time. Guests of Cosmoscow 2024 will be able to see the works of Alexander Rodchenko at the stand of the Eye gallery. XL Projects will present the works of Viktor Pivovarov. The Alina Pinsky Gallery stand will display works by Natalia Turnova, and Anna Nova Gallery will present “Cosmoscow Artist of the Year” - Alexandra Garth.
In 2024, Cosmoscow will unite key art industry projects from different cities in Russia and the world on one platform. Among the new participants of the fair this year: 9B from Nizhny Novgorod, at whose stand you can see works of the Russian association of artists “Provmyza”; “Victoria” from Samara will present works by Alexander Filimonov, Leonid Shereshevsky; Jessica will come to Moscow from St. Petersburg with works by Ivan Chemakin and Vera Svetlova; as well as Moscow Set Projects and Volokno Design Gallery, which will present the works of Chaim Sokol and Irakli Zaria, respectively.
In addition, at the fair it will be possible for the first time to meet such international galleries as CHELEBI (Azerbaijan), at whose stand the work of Aida Mahmudova will be presented; Yoomoota (Thailand), which will show works by Taras Zheltyshev; Forme (Italy) with works by Anatoly Akue; and Inloco Open Storage (Dubai) with creations by Sergei Krasavin and Filippo Minnelli.
As part of the CIRCULATION section, the creative platform “Substance” will have its own stand. Among the participants in the DESIGN section this year: Heritage, which will present the work of Alexandra Vertinskaya; 3L Gallery with works by Ira Boyko; and Booroom, whose stand will display works by Ariana Ahmad. In the FIGURE section, the Ocher gallery will present Nadezhda Bey to the audience.
By tradition, the fair will also be held online. Cosmoscow Online will have an extended duration compared to the fair at the Timiryazev Center and will be held from November 21 to 4 on the TEO by Cosmoscow platform, Russia’s largest contemporary art marketplace.
