The most anticipated cultural event of the fall season, Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair, opened in Gostiny Dvor. On the evening of September 5, Cosmoscow VIP Preview and Vernissage welcomed more than 4000 people. This year, Cosmoscow, the only International Contemporary Art Fair in Russia welcomes 67 galleries from Russia, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, USA, and other countries representing more than 300 contemporary artists. On September 5, an international jury of art experts awarded Moscow-based Artwin Gallery with Cosmoscow 2019 Stand Prize.
The Fair, supported by Main Partner Qatar Airways, Strategic Partner Credit Suisse, Automobile Partner Audi, Official Partner Ruinart, Jewelry Partner Mercury, Beauty Partner La Prairie, and Official Hotel the St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya, takes place from September 6 to 8 with Press, Privilege and VIP Preview on September 5.
Cosmoscow 2019 participants are divided into 6 sections: Galleries, Discovery, Frame, Focus, Design, and Editions. Among the well-known names, such as Giorgio Persano (IT), galerie frank elbaz (FR), Galerie Forsblom (FI) and Georg Kargl Fine Arts Gallery (AT); Cosmoscow will present a more recent generation of players: Dawid Radziszewski Gallery (PL), Galerie Emanuel Layr (AT/IT); Peres Projects Gallery (DE), Raster Gallery (PL) and Temnikova & Kasela (EE). This year, the Focus section, supported by Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow, is welcoming several Italian exhibitors showing works by Russian-born artists: Sara Zanin Z20 Gallery and C+N Canepaneri.
