Launch of the second annual Audi Born-Digital Award

Audi Russia, together with Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art, announce the launch of the annual Audi Born-Digital Award, aimed at the development of digital art in Russia. This year it will be held for the second time. Applications for participation will be accepted from April 5th until May 2nd, 2021. The winner will be announced on May 26th. The author of the best concept of a digital project will receive 700,000 rubles for its implementation, as well as a fee of 250,000 rubles*. The winner's work will be presented in the innovative Audi City Moscow space on the eve of the 9th Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair, as well as on Cosmoscow Foundation website.

The Audi Born-Digital Award is the epitome of the brand's mission. It is very important for Audi to support young artists who change the traditional approach to the perception of works of art and, together with the brand, embody the progressive ideas of the present. The exploration of the latest forms of digital contemporary art allows us to confidently look ahead and unite like-minded people - people with advanced views, who are not afraid of experimenting.

Like the brand itself, digital artists tend to reflect on the progressive and modern trends in the development of our society. Thanks to new forms of art, viewers are now able to appreciate the entirety of a changing world and join the idea of progress together with Audi.

The theme for the Audi Born-Digital Award 2021 is Fantastic. The theme unfolds through diverse scenarios and pictures of an imaginary future. What is the World to Come? Each project sent to the competition, like a futuristic teleport, allows us to "tame" time and control its course. Cutting through space and time, we rush towards the future by immersing in art.

Alexey Novoselov, Deputy Director of the Exposition and Exhibition department in MMOMA, Commissioner of the VII Moscow International Biennale for Young Art;

Anna Titovets, independent new media art curator, media and video artist.

The Audi Born-Digital Award was first held in 2020 and was a direct response to the unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic and the ubiquitous immersion into the online world. The declared theme "Borderline" invited artists to comprehend the possibilities of existence of born-digital-art in the network and in physical reality, as well as to create a statement about the borderline and limiting states of not only digital and media art, but also about the new world everyone found themselves in. According to the results of

the expert jury meeting, which included curators of key international institutions and specialists in new media, Pavel Seldemirov was recognized as the winner of the competition with his project "The Becoming." Pavel created a total installation that reproduced the space of a poetically interpreted forest filled with artifacts of 2020.

New projects that were not previously implemented and that correspond to the theme of the competition are accepted for participation in the Audi Born-Digital Award. More information about the conditions of participation: audiborn.digital.
