The word "provenance" is often heard in the antiques market. In the world of modern art, the question of the origin of the object is not so acute. But does this mean that you can forget about it? What steps can strengthen the history of the existence of a purchased work of art? How can the disposal of an object affect its value and subsequent fate? Does the collector today accept responsibility for the fate of the work for the next 100 years?
